High School Physics Lab
with Vanessa Moessner
Every other Tuesday starting Sept 15th, 12:30-2:30pm
During Physics Labs students will complete 1-4 hands-on experiments, activities, simulations to supplement an advanced biology curriculum. Students will continue to develop inquiry skills, proper lab techniques, and fundamentals of lab report writing while exploring advanced concepts in Physics.
Physics Labs at Lily Pad Lab will follow the sequence of topics in the Apologia Physics curriculum. We will work through many labs from the curriculum but will also take part in other experiments and activities. Students are not required to use the Apologia Curriculum and are encouraged to not purchase the lab book.
Parents will be responsible for at-home learning using the curriculum of their choice.
These lab classes will be taught by Dr. Tim Nordin. Dr. Nordin has a B.S. in physics from Iowa State University and a masters degree and Ph.D in education from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Between undergraduate and graduate work, he taught high school physics for five years in Columbus Junction, Iowa. He is currently involved in a number of educational enterprises around the region including serving as president of the Eau Claire School Board, developing Anthony Acres school in Mondovi, and teaching physics labs with his friend Vanessa at Lily Pad Lab. He is married and the proud father of two sons who attend Eau Claire schools.
